This year the IU graduation photos that I have been taking have a different feel than years past. The college experience has been altered by the pandemic and I have felt bad for college and high school students who haven’t had the same experiences whether it be proms, or football tailgates, or all other social gatherings that typically occur during their school years. That’s why this year, the graduation photoshoots that I’ve done have held even more importance. For families and the students it not only captures a sense of accomplishment, but closure from one phase of their life and the beginning of another. It’s always a bittersweet moment and I try to really focus on the celebration of the campus, the person, and the accomplishment itself.
This year I’ve had group sessions, couple sessions, and individual IU graduation photo sessions. Each has been different in style and tone, but the pictures have all come out great and that provides such a relief to me because I know how important capturing these moments in life are. My business is based on capturing weddings, maternity, newborn, celebrations etc. and while they’re all positive experiences, they all also moments in time that my customers want captured forever. I love graduation shoots and am still booking 2021, so if anyone is interested please reach out to me!
